Introducing the new Samsung Galaxy Buds3 series, featuring innovative "blades" instead of traditional stems. These blades allow you to control playback by pinching and adjust the volume with a swipe. The buds come in redesigned cases and boast a variety of AI features.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro stand out with their 2-way speakers, which include 6.1mm planar tweeters and 10.5mm dynamic drivers, complemented by dual amps. The updated SSC codec now supports double the sampling rate, delivering superior sound quality.
Equipped with Active Noise Cancellation, the Buds3 Pro’s microphones constantly monitor the environment, featuring Active Noise Control, Siren Detect, and Voice Detect. The latter two automatically allow ambient sound to pass through, ensuring you stay aware of your surroundings.
In addition, a machine learning model assists in filtering out background noise during calls, ensuring a natural-sounding voice even in noisy environments. The Buds utilize Super-Wideband technology to transmit voice at 16kHz, twice the capability of standard Bluetooth buds.
The Galaxy Buds3 Pro feature a stylish design accentuated by the exclusive Blade Lights, a light strip running along the edge of the blade. Users can personalize the lighting style using the Wearable app.
For those seeking a more affordable option, the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 offer 1-way dynamic drivers (11mm), along with Adaptive ANC and Adaptive EQ for adjusting sound based on surroundings. They sport an open design, enhancing comfort during extended use, though the Pro model's canal-type design provides superior passive noise isolation.
Both models come with redesigned cases featuring transparent tops and a battery capacity of 515mAh. The Pro buds, however, boast slightly larger 53mAh batteries in each bud, delivering up to 6 hours of use with ANC enabled and a total of 26 hours with charging case support (or up to 7 hours/30 hours with ANC off). The Buds3 offer 48mAh batteries in each bud, providing 5 hours of continuous listening with ANC enabled and up to 24 hours total (or 6 hours/30 hours with ANC off).
Both the standard and Pro versions support Galaxy AI features such as Interpreter mode. When using Listening mode, users can listen to lectures in foreign languages with the buds and Galaxy phone translating into their native tongue.
Samsung used computational design for both buds to ensure a better, more comfortable fit. This time around, both Buds3 models have the same dust and water resistance – IP57 (up from IPX2 on the Buds2 and IPX7 on the Buds2 Pro). This is only for the buds and not the case, though. Anyway, the Buds3 series is part of Samsung’s sustainability initiative and features recycled plastic from discarded fishing nets and water barrels.
The Buds3 series goes on pre-order today and will be available from July 24. They come in two colors, Silver and White.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro are priced at $250 / £220 / €250, while the vanilla Galaxy Buds3 are $180 / £160 / €180. For comparison, those prices are $30 higher than the Buds2 models.
