The 3nm Exynos 2500 is expected to surpass the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in efficiency

Samsung has been struggling with power efficiency and performance in its last few Exynos platforms, but it took a large step forward with this year's SoCs. And if a new rumor is to be believed it may overtake Qualcomm's top product in 2025.

The Exynos 2500 will be better than its competitor Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 both in power efficiency and raw performance, according to a post by PandaFlashPro on X (formerly Twitter),

This year's Exynos 2400 can keep up with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, but apparently Samsung has found more room for improvement than its American rival. The Exynos 2500 would be built on a 3 nm process technology, while the fourth-gen Snapdragon 8 will stick to 4 nm, thus giving the edge to the Korean maker.

Previous reports suggested that Samsung is preparing two flagship chipset variants: Exynos 2500-A with an octa-core CPU for smartphones and Exynos 2500-B with a 10-core CPU for tablets and Galaxy Book laptops.

We also heard Samsung might use Google's Tensor Processing Unit instead of its own NPU, but it is way too early to confirm any of these rumors.
